For dozens of dealers representing casinos from across Europe, next week’s European Dealer Championship at Casino Bregenz offers more than a title—it’s a chance to demonstrate their skills on an international stage and represent their home institutions in a highly competitive setting.
The 2025 edition of the annual event, organized by the European Casino Association (ECA), will take place from June 16 to 19. Participants will compete in various challenges that assess technical ability and customer interaction across traditional games such as roulette and blackjack. The competition has involved more than 500 contestants and over 3,000 spectators since its inception in 2007.
This year’s host, Casino Bregenz, is located in Austria’s Vorarlberg region on the shores of Lake Constance. The property is operated by Casinos Austria and sits within the city’s cultural district, near the Bregenzer Festspiele and its open-air stage on the lake.
The venue has undergone recent renovations led by Bernhard Moosbrugger. Updates to the facility include redesigned gaming areas, additional seating, and architectural elements that incorporate influences from the surrounding region. The property features a glass façade and expansive windows that allow views of the lake and nearby Alps.
Casino Bregenz also features several non-gaming facilities. These include the FALSTAFF Restaurant, a bar, and the Cloud Lounge, which contains a terrace with a canopy structure providing shade during the day and lighting in the evening.
The European Dealer Championship evaluates participants on both technical execution and hospitality skills, with assessments carried out by a panel of industry professionals. Events are structured to simulate live gaming conditions.
The 2024 championship was held at Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn, Estonia. The competition rotates annually among ECA member casinos and is designed to foster professional development and international collaboration within the industry.
