Wynn Resorts has completed its previously announced acquisition of Crown London, formerly Aspinall’s, from Crown Resorts, following approval from the UK Gaming Commission. Crown London will now be known as Wynn Mayfair.

The purchase strengthens Wynn’s presence in Europe and supports its expansion into the Middle East, ahead of the Wynn Al Marjan Island resort opening in the UAE in early 2027.

Wynn Mayfair, located at 27–28 Curzon Street in London, spans two historic townhouses and is one of London's most exclusive private gaming and dining clubs. The property features 20 gaming tables across the main floor, rooftop terrace, and six private salons.

The venue includes The Bar and The Dining Room, now open to the public as well as to members, offering cocktails, fine wines, and a menu of classic British dishes. The club is furnished with antiques and artwork, and the rooftop terrace provides space for outdoor dining, drinks, and gaming.

Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, earlier said the London property serves as an extension of the Al Marjan casino floor. "We have many, many customers that we are already talking to and encountering in that region who spend a significant amount of time in the UK," he told Inside Asian Gaming.

He noted that after Wynn Al Marjan opens, 95% of the world’s population will be within an eight-hour flight of a Wynn property.

Billings added that the London location is a strategic move to build a customer base ahead of the Al Marjan launch. "It caters to a very high-end customer, and it doesn’t take many of those to ultimately earn a return on that business,” the CEO said.

Originally opened as the White Elephant Club in the 1960s, the location was converted into a casino by gaming entrepreneur John Aspinall. It has hosted notable guests including Richard Burton, Princess Margaret, Roger Moore, and Shirley MacLaine.
