Las Vegas witnessed a resurgence in international tourism in 2023, marking a 39% increase in visitation from overseas, according to a report by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Amidst the backdrop of a global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the report revealed that Southern Nevada welcomed over 4.7 million international visitors in 2023, reflecting a notable rebound from the previous year.

Following a tumultuous period since the pandemic's onset nearly four years ago, Las Vegas has strived to regain its footing in the realm of international tourism. The year 2020 saw a stark decline in visitors from abroad, with only 1.3 million international tourists recorded, as travel restrictions and health concerns significantly impacted global mobility.

While the 2023 figures still fall short of pre-pandemic levels, representing a 16% decrease compared to 5.6 million visitors from other countries in 2019, they signify a substantial stride towards normalization.

Canada emerged as the leading contributor to Las Vegas' international tourism, with over 1.4 million visitors hailing from the northern neighbor. Mexico followed closely behind, accounting for nearly 1.1 million tourists, trailed by the United Kingdom (551,000), Australia (265,000), and Germany (182,400).

However, the most notable surge came from China, with a staggering 573% increase in visitors from the previous year. While only about 11,000 travelers ventured from China to Las Vegas in 2022, the figure soared to nearly 72,000 in 2023.

Overall, Las Vegas welcomed just under 41 million visitors in 2023, reflecting a 5% uptick from the preceding year.
