Financial services company CAIXA and Loterias CAIXA announced on August 24, in Sao Paulo, that they will allocate BRL 68.3 million (about $14 million) in sponsorships for Brazilian sports.

The investment breakdown includes the renewal of contracts with the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) and the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBAt), as well as a new partnership with the National Basketball League (LNB) to sponsor Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB).

The sponsorships were announced during the inauguration of the 20 Extraordinary Years exhibition, held at CAIXA Cultural São Paulo, to celebrate the bank's two decades of sponsorship of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.

Present at the announcements, CAIXA President Rita Serrano commented: "Today's announcements demonstrate CAIXA's commitment to Brazilian sports. In addition to generating jobs and income, the bank's support opens opportunities for children and adults to find in sports an opportunity for a better and healthier life, with respect for differences and social inclusion."

"Not to mention the high-level athletes who, with CAIXA's sponsorship, have better conditions to take the name of Brazil to the highest podiums in the world", Serrano added, accompanied by the president of the LNB, Rodrigo Montoro; the vice-president of CBAt, Edson Luciano; the president of CPB, Mizael Conrado, athletes, and other authorities.

The sponsorship contract with Novo Basquete Brasil, which will be renamed NBB CAIXA, will be for BRL 9.3 million (almost $2 million) and will run from October this year until September 2024.

In the case of athletics, CAIXA celebrates 22 years of sponsoring CBAt, with a renewal, through CAIXA Lotteries, for BRL 24 million (about $5 million), until February 2025.

CAIXA Lotteries also became the longest sponsorship of a national committee in the history of world para-sports, reaching 20 years of support to CPB, this time with a contract for BRL 35 million (about $7 million). The sponsorship makes it possible to maintain the 67 Reference Centers throughout the country and serve more than 3,500 athletes, from amateurs to high-performance athletes.
