Lotto.com announced Thursday it is expanding into three new states including New York, Texas and Colorado. The digital platform describes itself as allowing users to order lottery tickets on any device with no app download or deposit required.

“With a modern approach to ordering official state lottery tickets for New Jersey, New York, Texas and Colorado state lotteries, Lotto.com offers popular, large jackpot games including Powerball and Mega Millions," the company explains in a press release.

Lotto.com’s CEO Thomas Metzger spoke about this expansion and explained that, given the current “lottery frenzy” driven by the billion-dollar Mega Millions jackpot, this move comes at "a perfect time."

The opportunity to launch three new states this year is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. We see an immense opportunity to connect with new lottery players, both virtually and in-person, across New York, Texas and Colorado," Metzger added. "2022 is by no means over, and we expect to launch Lotto.com in additional states before the end of the year."

Lotto.com also recently developed Players Cafe, described as a modern convenience store that is a one-stop shop for lottery tickets, coffee, scratch-offs, snacks, gifts and more in cooperation with small local businesses. With locations in Manhattan, NY, Edgewater, CO and Cedar Park, TX, lottery players in these markets are encouraged to experience "unique activations," along with a scratch-off bar and monthly events.

Jackpocket Founder and CEO Pete Sullivan.

The news comes a day after rival Jackpocket announced that a Mega Millions ticket worth $3 million was ordered in Westchester County, New York using the lottery app. The third-party application provides consumers a way to order official state lottery tickets.

The Quick Pick ticket matched 5 of 5 white numbers drawn in the July 22 Mega Millions drawing, only missing the gold Mega Ball. By adding the $1 Megaplier to their ticket, the player multiplied their second-prize winnings by 3X to a guaranteed $3 million.
