Both companies have submitted land-use applications for a proposed passenger station and tunnel that will move people in Tesla vehicles underground. The goal is to connect all of The Strip's properties and continue into the community with connections to Allegiant Stadium and McCarran Airport. If approved by the Clark County Commission, construction is anticipated to begin later this year.

Genting Group’s Resorts World Las Vegas and Wynn Las Vegas are both planning to have underground tunnels that can move people back and forth to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Both companies have submitted land-use applications and design plans to connect to Elon Musk’s Boring Company transport system. Resorts World announced Tuesday that is has submitted plans for a proposed passenger station and tunnel that will move people in Tesla —another Musk’s company— vehicles underground, avoiding the above ground traffic congestion during conventions and other big events.

“Convention guests would no longer have to worry about long walks or gridlock traffic around the convention center – they could take the transportation system to Resorts World Las Vegas for lunch, meetings, or personal appointments, and be back to their conference or expo in minutes,” Scott Sibella, President of Resorts World Las Vegas, said in a statement. The resorts is scheduled to open summer 2021.

Wynn Las Vegas also announced it submitted a land-use application to Clark County for an underground tunnel that would transport passengers between the Encore and convention center. “The connector is an important step for Wynn as the resort continues its investments in the future of eco-friendly meetings and conventions in Las Vegas,” the company said, as reported by KLAS.

The Boring Company broke ground on its underground people mover in November 2019. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitor's Authority announced in February of this year that Boring Company had completed the underground people mover's first tunnel. The LVCC Loop, part of LVCC’s expansion, is slated to be finished by January 2021.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO Steve Hill said the goal is to connect all of The Strip's properties and continue into the community with connections to Allegiant Stadium and McCarran Airport, KTNV reports. The travel time between the property and convention center would be less than two minutes. The tunnels must be approved by the Clark County Commission, and if that happens, construction is anticipated to begin later this year.
