Westgate Las Vegas is planning a mid-June reopening as Nevada begins planning to ease business restrictions related to COVID-19. The resort said on its website that it will take reservations for dates starting with June 18.
"Westgate’s main priority continues to be the health and safety of all our guests, team members, and the community," the website states. "We are grateful to our local and state government, law enforcement, health care workers and the community at large for working tirelessly to protect Nevada residents and their families."
Nevada's stay-at-home directive has been extended through mid-May. Gov. Steve Sisolak has said reopening casinos will be part of the state's later third or fourth phases, depending on the spread of the coronavirus.
A few other casino-resorts in Las Vegas have announced they will start taking reservations for dates in May. Treasure Island says it's taking reservations for dates starting May 15, though that date is subject to change.
Sahara Las Vegas' website says it's taking reservations for dates starting May 22. A spokesperson for Sahara said resort's executives anticipate a phased reopening, along with safety precautions, and will follow the governor's guidance, as reported by KSNV.
Other major casino operators in Nevada, including MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Station Casinos, have not publicly revealed any scheduled dates for reopening.
