Twitch, an Amazon-owned live streaming platform has announced the launch of a dedicated directory for esports tournaments, teams, and players, which is said to make “the world of esports streaming more intuitive and accessible.”
As reported by Esports Insider, Twitch’s newly-formed esports section includes a directory that lists live tournaments, a list of live players who are signed to professional organizations, personalized recommendations based on users’ viewing history, and a sub-directory that compiles active tournaments and leagues.
Earlier this week, Twitch entered a three-year deal with ESL and DreamHack that will see it act as the exclusive global digital partner for the tournament organizer’s ‘major’ events – including ESL Pro Tour, ESL Pro League, IEM, DreamHack Masters, and DreamHack Open.
Last November, San Francisco-based esports startup Juked launched its open beta – aggregating broadcasts of esports competitions from Twitch, Mixer, and other streaming platforms. As it has grown, the platform now includes resources such as an esports calendar with reminders and VODs. Last week, Popdog launched with a similar concept to Juked.
