Svenska Spel, a Swedish gambling operator who recently announced a deal with Greentube, has rolled out an online gaming platform that will allow ‘all physical agents affiliated with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino to sell their participation games to customers all over Sweden.’
“Finally, the agents can get access to all the benefits of online sales and services and thus have a huge customer base to work with. Now we are talking multichannel fully when you can buy a share from any store, no matter where you are in the country,” explained Mathias Johansson, Partner Responsible Store, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino.
Through the launch of the new platform, Svenska Spel will also deliver a new, dedicated customer section to its website for the new service, SBC News reports, with each agent to have their own dedicated page through which they can target consumers.
The platform is expected to be connected to the Svenska Spel retail offering via the operator’s self-service betting terminals which were rolled out earlier this year.
The news comes after President and CEO of Svenska Spel, Patrik Hofbauer, backed proposals to issue a further crackdown on selected sports betting markets as suggested by the Swedish Government.
The proposed ban follows on from a meeting held between Sweden’s social security minister Ardalan Shekarabi, the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association which discussed the potential for manipulation across certain betting markets.
