During its first three months, Loterias Online portal took 4.4 million bets and raised R$ 46,6 million (US$ 12.3 million). The money collected represents 1.41% of the total sales, including revenue from land-based, online lotteries and online banking.

Gilson Braga, National Superintendent of Lotteries, highlighted the importance of the CAIXA lotteries’ commercialization channels. Loterías Online portal acts as a complementary channel to land-based agencies. Users’ profiles are different from those of online players, Braga said, emphasizing the interest of younger users in the portal. “We believe CAIXA made the right choice when deciding to offer this new service to patrons. We are quite satisfied with these first three months of operation.”

Loterias Online enjoyed considerable support from the public, with over 413,000 registrations, which eventually led to the first winners. On November 7, within Lotofacil 1.734 contest, one of the four winners guessed the total 15 numbers and received a prize of R$ 580,000.

The portal was created on August 10, to serve as an alternative for CAIXA Lotteries’ clients, allowing them to place bets in every channel, in a more comfortable way. Mega-Sena was the game which took more wages, followed by Lotofacil.
