Foxwoods Resorts appoints Tribal Chairman Rodney Butler as Interim CEO
Foxwoods Resort Casino has named an interim CEO following the sudden death of its previous CEO last month.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council announced Tuesday that Tribal Chairman Rodney Butler will serve as interim CEO. Butler will assume the role immediately pending state approval. Officials with the casino say a recruitment process has already begun for a new CEO and president.
Previous CEO Felix Rappaport died unexpectedly in June.
The casino's new leader will be announced in the fall. Butler says officials expect a quick appointment and a smooth transition.
Butler has been on the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council since 2004 and has served as chairman since 2010. He also sits on the board of directors for both the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and the Mystic Aquarium.
