Following Steve Wynn's sexual misconduct accusations scandal, the Vegas firm, which is building a 3 million-square-foot casino-resort in Everett, wishes to have the name of its founder and former CEO scrubbed from its Massachusetts gaming license,

After several women have accused Steve Wynn of sexual harassment and assault, the casino tycoon left his namesake company in February and later sold his stake in it.

The request to remove Steve Wynn’s name from the license—an expected formality, according to the Globe’s Jon Chesto—follows speculation that Wynn Resorts may change the name of the casino-resort itself to remove Wynn from that too.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is expected to take up the request on April 12.

Construction of the Everett complex, known currently as the Wynn Boston Harbor, continues unabated, however, with an opening expected in June 2019.

Moreover, Boston Curbed reports that Wynn Resorts could end up selling the complex before it opens—that is, if there are any takers for the $2.4 billion development.
