What products did you bring to G2E this year? What were the highlights of the show?
From Dusk Till Dawn was a highlight at G2E this year, not just for NOVOMATIC, but the entire show. Based on the cult vampire road movie written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez, From Dusk Till Dawn is our first licensed title for the US market. We teamed up with Miramax for this title and have the global rights, both land-based and online. At G2E, we were proud to launch this game on the NOVOSTAR V.I.P. III and V.I.P. Lounge with a fantastic presentation on both cabinets – and for all three days, every terminal has been played constantly.
We had Danny Trejo in our booth as well as at our exclusive From Dusk Till Dawn party, both of which were big attractions and major talking points.
Another new product for NOVOMATIC is our Enchanted Fortunes linked progressive jackpot solution. We presented six connected themes across a bank of DOMINATOR Curve cabinets at the show. Two I would like to highlight are Asian Fortunes, which has been a great success for us in the US, as well as Book of Ra Mystic Fortunes that we are very proud to be launching at G2E.
Our NOVO LINE Novo Unity II electronic table gaming solution has also received a lot of attention. We announced at the show that we are installing the solution in the US for the first time at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. This is a proven and tested product in Europe and Asia and we are very excited to now bring it to the US.
The NOVOMATIC Interactive division Greentube also occupied a dedicated section of our booth, highlighting Greentube Pro. This social gaming solution was designed initially for the US market as a comprehensive marketing platform for land-based casinos to interact with their players when not physically in the casino. The functionality has really evolved over the last 12 months and there are now three US properties operating a social casino powered by Greentube Pro: Foxwoods in Connecticut, Treasure Island in Minnesota and Mount Airy in Pennsylvania.
We also showed the ACP casino management system from Octavian. Modular and scalable, this solution has been receiving some great interest this week, as it is very applicable for certain US markets, such as the VGT market in Illinois. ACP has a proven track record in Latin America, as well as in Europe, and it can be applied for single site locations up to multiple sites with a lot of machines, so it is very scalable.
What can you tell us about the process to acquire Ainsworth?
““At the moment, we are still in the process of acquiring 53 percent of Ainsworth. We anticipate the deal will be complete by the end of this year – and we have a commitment to roll out Ainsworth machines in Europe by the end of 2018
”
We now head up the European sales of Ainsworth from the NOVOMATIC headquarters in Austria. In the background, while the deal is still ongoing, there is already a lot of collaboration between the companies in the R&D space and we are pooling our knowledge, especially for the US market.
This year is the first time that we exhibited on a shared booth at G2E in Las Vegas and we have really demonstrated a combined strength of both companies in the market.
What is the next show for Novomatic?
We are holding our G2E Aftershow event at the Hotel W Mexico City on October 19, which is a specialized event for our customers in Mexico, where we will be showing some key products for the Mexican market.
Following that, there is SAGSE in Buenos Aires and BEGE in Sofia where we will show our latest products in the respective regions, before gearing up for ICE next year.
