Breon Corcoran, the ex CEO of Irish bookmaker Paddy Power Betfair, has emerged as top target for private hire transport company Uber following the departure of General Manager for Northern Europe Jo Bertram.

Corcoran has been in the gambling industry for over sixteen years, having lead Paddy Power’s £7 billion merger with Betfair last year.

“Gambling hasn't always had the best public profile,” said a top headhunter.

“Corcoran's got an incredible track record of taking on challenges and is one of the top digital guys out there.”

Other names on the list include Facebook's UK boss Nicola Mendelsohn.

The move comes as Uber gears up to win back its operating license in London.
