Asia is home to all of the world’s top 10 largest casinos, as measured by gaming revenue (USD), seeing off all the competitors in Las Vegas and Australia.

Indeed, eight out of the top 10 casinos are in Macau, with the Galaxy Macau taking the number one spot, some way ahead of the SJM Grand Lisboa in second place.

Singapore’s two integrated resorts, the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa, manage to sneak into ninth and tenth places on the list respectively.

The only casino to interrupt Asia’s dominance in the top casinos by GGY was Crown Melbourne in Australia which took 11th place.

The lack of Las Vegas casinos in the top 10 list is a reflection of the different models employed in Macau and Las Vegas.

Las Vegas casinos have diversified into other entertainment much more than Macau, which is still heavily focused on gambling. But Macau’s casinos are trying to encourage visitors to partake in other activities during their stay. Global Betting and Gaming Consultants’ list of casinos only takes into account gambling revenues. The total GGY of the world’s top 10 casinos is USD 33.8B, which equates to 22% of the global casino GGY.
