Danske Licens Spil, the online gaming subsidiary of Danish state-owned gaming operator Danske Spil, has acquired a majority stake in fantasy sports platform provider Swush.com.

Although the financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, it has been confirmed that Danske Licens Spil will take a 60% stake in the company. Founded in November 2000, Swush.com provides seasonal fantasy sports games to a host of major media groups across Europe.

The company’s current customer list includes the likes of Aftonbladet in Sweden, the EMEA arm of pay-television broadcaster ESPN, as well as pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport in a number of countries.

“The acquisition will ensure a closer cooperation between Danske Licens Spil, which operates in the regulated Danish gaming market, and Swush.com that offers a host of product development services,” Danske Licens Spil director Niels Folmann said.

Ole Christensen, co-founder of Swush.com, added: “We have worked closely with Danske Spil for many years; there are many synergies and a lot of strong growth potential. With Danske Spil, we will have a strong partner who can strengthen our business and help us achieve our goals.”
