Two professional basketball teams were motion captured by over a hundred cameras and sensors on a full basketball court with a total volume near 4,000 m³, hosted in a movie studio in Great Britain. The project reached a technological milestone.
Prior to filming, half-a-million real-basketball events were thoroughly analysed including player position, shot types and success rates which provided the foundation of all play moves and shots seen now in Virtual Basketball.
The result is an exceptional betting product. Based on a league format, 16 teams are competing for the title with 8 matches always running in parallel every 4.5 minutes, resulting in over 2,400 fixtures to bet on each day. All major betting markets are available with odds distribution based on Betradar’s market-leading feed as found for real basketball.
Thereby, the product has been developed to be as close as possible to betting on real events with included live scores, tables and statistics, but only one major difference: a new match is starting every 4.5 minutes which allows high-frequency betting at all times including multiples.
“Virtual Basketball has been developed for punters to place bets intuitively. It’s the first virtual basketball product out in the market and brings in assets we have in our other virtual sports that have proven to be highly attractive to bettors. We are absolutely convinced that it will take the revenues of our clients to new heights”, says Managing Director, Neale Deeley.
