It was Mead's publishing company that he started in 2002 that steered him to the gaming industry. His publishing endeavors led Mead to sponsor training seminars and other events, which ultimately led to the Casino Enterprise Management Magazine we know today.
Mead was avid about the gaming industry and delivered the most compressive and pertinent information on the pages of Casino Enterprise Magazine. World-class casino management and operational facets of the casino industry were passions of Mead. He ensured that readers received relevant information and stayed abreast of industry trends. Whether it was the first-hand reporting on leaders in the worldwide gaming industry or the numerous prestigious awards, Mead was the one making sure all the pieces came together.
His desire to keep the gaming industry informed and prepared for the future drove his work at Casino Enterprise Management.
"Peter was a great friend. I worked him nearly my entire tenure with NIGA. He was eager to educate all aspects of the gaming industry including Indian gaming. Peter always made sure that the world saw Indian Gaming through the eyes of Casino Enterprise Management Magazine," said NIGA Chairman Stevens.
Besides gaming, Mead loved fishing especially in northern Minnesota where he spent many summers. His liking of the outdoors led him to enjoy time in serene woods and even gardening.
The invaluable contributions Mead made to the gaming industry have not gone unnoticed. His legacy will live on and not be forgotten.
