Peru Gaming Show is Konami's first Latin American show of the year. Why did you prioritize the Peruvian show over others in the region? What are your expectations for the event?
Yes, that is true—Peru Gaming Show is our first Latin American show of 2015 and we look forward to participating. PGS is unique because it targets Peruvian operators and we’ve chosen to attend specifically because it’s proven to be a strong market for Konami. As the Peru continues to see healthy growth and becomes one of our company’s most active Latin American markets, we value the opportunity to be able to meet with those customers personally, receive their feedback, and increase the scope of nationwide sales accordingly.
Which of Konami's machines has had the best performance in the South American country?
From the beginning, SeleXion has been our greatest success in Peru. SeleXion is the perfect example of how we listened to the expertise of operators in order to help guide our product development and provide the ultimate multi-game solution the market has seen. Operators have been very happy with its performance since day one. This is also because our base game content is very strong in and of itself, so when a variety of our most popular games are combined through SeleXion, we’re able to amplify game performance even more.
What are your next steps to continue to lead the region?
In the coming year, Konami will focus on introducing more titles to enhance the library of existing games titles across Peru so operators have the flexibility to customize their own unique multi-game packages however they wish. We’ll continue to support our Peruvian customers with an expanding library of new and exciting games so they maintain a variety of fresh options for their casino patrons to enjoy.
This year, Hard Rock revealed its intention to open a casino hotel in Lima, EGASA bought Absolut Casino and Enjoy Chile signed an agreement with Decameron. Why do these events take place in countries such as Peru?
Many of these organizations you’ve listed have achieved a lot of growth and expansion in recent years that have caused them to consider Peru. The overall economy in Peru has seen stable growth, which has made it very attractive for global firms to invest in the region to expand business.
The subsequent impact of these new companies will be new investment and ideas flooding the market. The increased competition is healthy and will help Peru’s overall gaming industry to grow and development.
And in addition to the latest breaking news updates we receive daily from Yogonet, Konami is able to stay abreast of market movements such as these by working closely with these customers at their respective countries of origin.
What are your projections for the company and the Peruvian market?
Year over year, the Peruvian gaming market continues to grow. Operators are taking advantage of more new equipment as competition increases and they seek to provide something new and different to engage casino patrons. We expect the market to see even greater expansion, and Konami will support its customers and patrons throughout the region to help ensure success. We’re very excited to be attending PGS alongside our exclusive distributor for Peru Pacific Gaming to help mark this year’s memorable event.
