In relation to last month, the gaming gross income increased 82,16 %

Chilean SCJ informs the operational results of the 15 casinos for July

The Superintendence of Casinos (SCJ) informs that during the month of July, all of the casinos affected by the earthquake, began functioning, generating a gross gaming income (win) of us$ 31,75 million and received 493,566 visitors, which spent in average us$ 66.3 each. In relation to the 15 municipalities and the 10 regional governments, these will receive us$ 5,30 million from specific gaming tax and the State will receive us$ 2,41 million from entrance tax. Additionally the operating companies generated us$  5,06 million from gaming VAT.

In relation to last month, the gaming gross income increased 82,16 %, considering that the win for June 2010 was us$ 17,43 million and in July was us$ 31,75 million, amount that represents a higher level of income since this new industry began functioning. This is basically due to the fact that most of the casinos increased the amount of visitors, which implied in total an increase of 77,59 %, -in June 277 thousand 926 and in July 493 thousand 566-. In addition, a higher spending average per visitor was also registered, going from us$ 65.2 to us$ 66.3 which implied an increase of 1,61 %.

In compliance to the regulations established by the  SCJ for slot machines, whose prizes may not be inferior to 85% of the wagers of the total of possible game combinations, the 7,240 slot machines in operation gave out an  average of 93,3 % in prize returns to the players. While the total amount wagered rose to us$ 365,83 million, the slot machine win at the 15 casinos was us$ 24,59 million, which implies that the prizes awarded came up an equivalent of us$ 341,24 million.

In relation to the us$ 31,75 million in gaming gross income or  win, Monticello Grand Casino represented 35,2 % (us$ 11,16 million), Marina del Sol 12,4 % (us$ 3,95 million), Enjoy Antofagasta 11,4 % (us$ 3,61 million), Dreams Temuco 7,8 % (us$ 2,49 million), Dreams Punta Arenas 6,3 % (us$ 2,01 million), Casino Sol Calama 4,9 % ($ 1,56 million dollars), Antay Casino & Hotel 4,2 % (us$ 1,34 million), Dreams Valdivia 4,2 % (us$ 1,33 million), Casino Sol Osorno 2,8 % (us$ 0,89 million), Casino Rinconada 2,8 % (us$ 0,88 million), Casino de Colchagua 2,5 % (us$ 0,80 million), Casino Gran Los Ángeles 1,9 % (us$ 0,59 million), Casino de Juegos del Pacífico 1,7 % (us$ 0,56 million), Gran Casino de Talca 1,4 % (us$ 0,45 million) and Termas de Chillán 0,4 % (us$ 0,13 million).

With the July results, the casino industry has generated during this year a total of us$141,17 million in gaming gross income, us$ 23,57 million in specific gaming tax, us$ 22,54 million in VAT and us$ 11,43 million in entrance tax. In addition, the casinos have received during this year a total of 2,322,324 visitors, which have in average spent us$ 61.8 each.
