DI is calculated by deducting percentage of negative answer from percentage of positive answer on various questions including the general operational conditions. This June Research was conducted from June 14 through July 5 and obtained answers from 65 Hall operators.
According to the release, positive answer was 1.3% and negative answer was 35%, resulting in DI at minus 33.8% which is 4.8% worsen from the previous research done in March. DI for the last one year has been in the range of minus 30% area and this shows the extremely severe market conditions for the industry.
Looking at the research result based on the business field, Pachinko DI was minus 30.1 % which is 2.7% down from the previous figure as opposed to the Pachislot DI of 28.8%, 15.9% up. Pachinko DI specific for 4 yen denomination machines is really serious minus 52.5%. On the contrary, Pachislot has kept positive DI for the consecutive two researches.
This could be seen that Pachinko dominance market has been changed to the Pachislot dominance market from last year’s September research. However, this positive trend of Pachislot is not strong enough to change the market trend of entire industry since the current quantity of Pachislot machine is quite limited.
