Cyprus aims to end online gambling

(Cyprus).- The Cypriot government intends to end online gambling, The Cyprus Mail reported. Online gambling has spread across Cyprus recently and legislation has been approved to thwart it, the report said.

The government wants to regulate internet betting on sports, with companies requiring licenses and will ban online roulette and poker, according to the newspaper.

Government officials also reported that, under the drafted legislation, a gaming board will be introduced to Cyprus, who will be responsible for regulation.
