The issue generates great interest, because the protection and security in the interior of a casino requires surveillance in all the sectors. The top management, which controls slots, tables, internal audits and finances, plays a key role in the detection and fraud prevention.
Beyond traditional gaming and frauds, many fraudulent practices are thanks to sophisticated outlines of participation of the people that work in the organizations. The subject is to be developed in two days, from 9,00 am and 4,00 pm, and will bring many strategies as well as tecniques to increase the capacity to detect and identify fraudulent actions, as well as to help design and develop the procedures of protection and practices of preventive training.
The selection of the theme of the course was product of the previous visit of Cheryl Olson, Associate Director of the Casino Management Program of the University of Nevada to the main gambling venues and institutions such as the Association of Hotels and Tourism of Aruba. Professor Olson asked about the needs and heard of the suggestions of the operators, with the aim of creating an innovative proposal and totally useful, previously consulted with the people interested.
The course will be in charge of instructor Hoke Darrin, Director and Chief of Surveillance of Excellence of Pinnacle Entertainment. He started his career in the casino industry in 1985, working in the slots department of a casino in Reno, Nevada. Transferred to the Security Department, Darrin discovered that he had passion for all the issues related to security and surveillance. This way, his instinct led him to develop a variety of Management functions, including his current position.
