Close to 1500 gaming industry professionals from across Canada and around the world are gathering at Caesars Windsor for the 13th Annual Canadian Gaming Summit. The 2009 Summit features over 80 seminars, roundtables and discussions covering all facets of the gaming industry.
New areas of focus this year include conference series focusing on Food & Beverage, Marketing and Communications and Innovation in Gaming, which looks at new technologies and the growth of internet gaming.
The 3,716 sqm Summit Exhibit floor in the Colosseum will feature the leading suppliers to the gaming industry from across Canada and the United States. For the first time in the history of the Summit, new slot machines traditionally demonstrated at the trade show, were available for live play on the gaming floor at Caesars Windsor. Caesars Windsor's gaming floor currently offers more than 2,600 slot machines and 90 table games.
Leading off the conference sessions are two highly anticipated forums: the Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Executive Roundtable, featuring a distinguished panel of executives from the 'big 5' gaming equipment makers discussing what the industry can expect from gaming technology going forward held on Wednesday April 29 (8 a.m. to 9 a.m); and the Canadian Gaming Operators CEO Panel on Thursday April 30 (8 a.m. to 9 a.m), featuring key senior executives from the country's largest casino and track operators, assembled together for the first time to share insights into the challenges and issues facing the industry.
Tim Wilmott, President & COO, Penn National Gaming, will provide a special introductory address prior to the Thursday executive roundtable. Prior to joining Penn National, Mr. Wilmott served as Chief Operating Officer of Harrah's Entertainment.
In conjunction with this year's Summit, the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) will be holding their annual spring meeting, bringing together over 70 of the gaming industry's leading legal minds from across North America and Europe to examine legal issues of the day.
Also returning as part of this year's Summit is the Standardbred Wagering Conference presenting by Standardbred Canada. This year's "driving innovation" theme will look at the North American harness horse wagering and the future prospects for the industry.
