World Poker Tour and BetMGM launch WPT Online Borgata Poker Open in New Jersey

The winner of this first online US WPT Main Tour event of Season XIX will have their name etched on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.

The second-ever online US WPT Main Tour event represents the latest in the ongoing relationship between WPT and BetMGM. The $3,500 buy-in event features a $1 million guaranteed prize pool and will include a live-streamed final table. The inaugural WPT Online Borgata Poker Open can be accessed on BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, or partypoker NJ. 

World Poker Tour and BetMGM announced Tuesday that the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open on September 19-21 will lead partypoker US Network Online Series in New Jersey, to be held across September 12-21.

The $3,500 buy-in event features a $1 million guaranteed prize pool and will include a live-streamed final table. The WPT Online Borgata Poker Open represents the latest in the ongoing relationship between WPT and BetMGM.

The winner of this first online US WPT Main Tour event of Season XIX will have their name etched on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, along with the names of the previous 18 seasons champions. 

All event participants are eligible for points in the season-long WPT Player of the Year race. Players must physically be in New Jersey to participate in the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open on Borgata Poker, BetMGM Poker or partypoker NW. 

In the weeks leading up, partypoker US Network will host satellites, starting  at $5, and a freeroll tournament, providing player chances at accessible entry. 

Adam Plisca, CEO of World Poker Tour, spoke in a press release about the upcoming events. 

“The WPT Online Borgata Poker Open, powered by partypoker US Network, marks the return of the Sexton Cup to New Jersey. We are very happy that WPT’s strategic move in online tournaments has been bolstered by one of the longest and most prestigious casinos on the tour”. 

Matthew Sunderland, Vice President of Gaming, BetMGM, also commented.
