The Nevada Gaming Control Board approved Wednesday three wager types to be offered by licensed bookmakers: head to head, winner of each match, and overall season winner. Acceptance of bets must be halted prior to the start of each match.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday granted approval to offer wagers on Counter-Strike – ESL Pro League Season 11: North America. The approved wager types are three: head to head; winner of each match; and overall season winner.

The regulators now allow all licensed bookmakers to post and accept wagers on Counter-Strike – ESL Pro League Season 11: North America, under certain conditions. Licensed books electing to offer these wagers must provide the Enforcement Division with notification of terms via email. Acceptance of bets must be halted prior to the start of each match.

Also, the results must be based on a permissible source in accordance with the respective regulations, and all corresponding audit procedures must be adhered to. The setting of odds is left to be defined by the sportsbook, and rules governing these wagers must be made available to the public. Any additional wagers that are not included in the three approved types for this event will require a separate application and approval.

In November last year, New Jersey’s casinos and racetracks started taking bets on competitive eSports tournaments, following approval from the state Division of Gaming Enforcement. That state is also discussing legislation that would permanently allow legal betting on eSports events, which advanced out of an Assembly committee earlier this month.
