nternational Game Technology (IGT) had announced that it would showcase a comprehensive portfolio of games and solutions at Perú Gaming Show (PGS), an exhibition that took place June 20-21, at Lima. Marcel Heutmekers, IGT Senior Vice President of Gaming for Latin America, spoke with Yogonet.com about the highlighted products at its stand, as well as his views on a major topic at the event: online gaming.
Which products did you showcase at Peru Gaming Show?
IGT showcased several of our latest innovations such as the new CrystalDual 27 gaming machine at this year’s Peru Gaming Show. The stunning cabinet supports a wide range of IGT titles which look pristine on the cabinet’s dual, high-definition, 27-inch displays. We also presented exciting titles such as Wild Fury Jackpots and Fort Knox on the CrystalCurve gaming machine. In addition, we highlighted TRUE 3D content on the AXXIS 3D cabinet with titles such as Zuma 3D, and new games such as IGT’s Money Storm link on the S3000 cabinet.

Did you showcase any machine, content or feature specially adapted to the Peruvian market?
IGT highlighted its latest market-ready, player-tested content at this year’s Peru Gaming Show with new content such as diversity HD game bundles and USwitch multi-game bundles on the CrystalDual 27 gaming machine. The recently introduced cabinet is backed by a vast library of games with titles such as Scarab and Mistress of Egypt.
Player-favorite multi-level progressive Fort Knox on the CrystalCurve gaming machine was also a focal point within IGT’s booth. This widely known game was recently installed in Peru, Mexico, and Aruba and is experiencing great success throughout all parts of Latin America.
Which IGT product has reported more sales during the first half of the year? What are the projections for the next months in Peru and in other markets within its sphere of influence?
We currently have several products from our portfolio that are gaining momentum on casino floors. For example, the CrystalCurve gaming machine is currently installed in all key markets throughout the region. Players at more than 100 casinos throughout Latin America are now enjoying engaging titles such as Wild Fury Jackpots, Star Rise, and Fort Knox on the cabinet’s 43-inch, curved, ultra-HD, 4K display.
Over the next few months, we will release the next titles on our CrystalCurve cabinet roadmap including new titles such as Mega Wheel and Cleopatra Gold on the CrystalCurve, along with new content on the CrystalDual 27.

After Colombia, it all seems to indicate that Peru will be the next Latin American market to regulate online sports betting. Is IGT prepared to enter this segment? Are you developing any specific product for this country?
The recent online gaming regulation is something we are monitoring closely across Latin America as we believe this is something that will create new opportunities for our customers.
After the event organized in Cuzco and PGS, in which other Latin American events will the company participate this year?
We are actively planning our portfolio, stand and strategy for SAGSE, our next major Latin America-focused tradeshow on the calendar. At that event we’ll demonstrate our ongoing progress in localizing our products and services, and present a portfolio of new, market-attuned content on the CrystalCurve gaming machine and systems solutions such as PlaySpot and Cardless Connect.
