Crown Resorts snaps up majority stake in social gaming company

Crown Resorts, which is majority owned by outgoing Chairman James Packer, has announced a new deal to acquire 60% of social gaming company DGN Games.

Crown Resorts, which is majority owned by outgoing Chairman James Packer, has announced a new deal to acquire 60% of social gaming company DGN Games.

The acquisition of DGN Games by Crown shows the interest by land based operators to get into the social gaming business to increase revenues.

The agreement with DGN Games means Crown will pay $27.5 million for the majority holding of the company which is based in Texas and specialises in social gambling and social gaming.

Crown Resorts also promised to inject immediately $5 million to DGN Games in order to support new development and growth.
