(Macau).- Macau gaming revenues were running 15 per cent ahead of last May up to the 18th. Gaming revenue is on pace to hit USD 4.3 billion this month and growth of 12 to 17 per cent is expected by analysts. However, some analysts are lowering monthly revenue growth estimates on softer than expected average daily rates in the wake of the Golden Week holidays at the beginning of May.

John Kempf of RBC Capital reduced his May growth rate to 11.5 to 13.5 per cent from 15 to 20 per cent as last week’s US$ 120.2 million average daily rate was below his expectations. Cameron McKnight of Wells Fargo dropped his growth estimate from 14 to 16 per cent to 10 to 14 per cent.
