ith respect to this contract extension, Gtech expects to receive approximately us$ 43 million in revenues over the two-year period. Pronosticos has been a valued Gtech customer since 1987.

Under the extension, Gtech will continue providing the operation and maintenance of the online central system and communications network; maintenance of Pronosticos’ 9,300 online terminal base; field service; hotline management; and marketing support to further enhance Pronosticos’ overall product and game portfolio. It will also continue working with Pronosticos in the development of new sales channels utilizing Gtech’s ES Connect B2B solution.

ES Connect B2B allows lotteries to offer wagers and other wager-related transactions on their central system through non-lottery dedicated point-of-sale devices. It also provides access to interactive lottery wagering applications from a variety of IP-enabled devices such as the Internet, mobile phones, and Interactive television, as well as access to non-lottery services such as electronic prepaid phone cards and utility bill payments.

“When we first introduced Gtech’s ES Connect solution in Mexico two years ago, our goal was to assist Pronosticos in increasing their online lottery ticket sales points at non-traditional lottery locations in Mexico, such as supermarkets and convenience stores,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel.

“Today, in addition to the 9,300 terminals selling tickets at traditional lottery outlets, more than 6,000 supermarkets and convenience stores throughout Mexico are selling lottery tickets through their cash registers, allowing more convenience for players and ease of execution for retailers. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue assisting Pronosticos in developing new sales channels to support their long-term growth strategy and further increasing revenues for education and health services in Mexico,” he concluded.
