Distributed gaming operator Accel Entertainment announced on Thursday that its subsidiary Toucan Gaming LLC acquired the assets of Rice Palace Inc. and South Louisiana Gaming Inc., the owner and operator of the Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino in Crowley, Louisiana.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition adds 50 video gaming devices (VGDs) to Toucan's Louisiana route operations. Accel and Toucan plan to increase the location's capacity to 60 VGDs in the near term, representing an approximately 8% increase compared with the 728 Louisiana route VGDs that Accel reported as of March 31, 2026.
The transaction is consistent with Accel Entertainment's long-term strategy of disciplined growth and strategic, accretive investments in Louisiana, the company said.
"This accretive acquisition reflects our continued momentum in Louisiana and our confidence in the long-term growth potential of this market," Accel Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Andy Rubenstein said in a statement.
"Rice Palace has built a strong business grounded in local relationships, around-the-clock service, authentic local dining, and operational discipline, and we're excited to welcome them to the Toucan Gaming family."
The Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino operates as a video poker casino and truck stop business in Crowley. Approximately 60,000 vehicles pass by the property each day, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The purchase diversifies Accel Entertainment's geographic footprint, which derives more than half of its revenue from its Illinois operations.
Outside its home state, Accel also has distributed route operations in Georgia, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska and Nevada. Accel has a portfolio of 28,000-plus gaming devices across the country, ranking it fourth by that metric.
Accel said it will leverage its operational expertise, gaming and entertainment offerings, data analytics and promotional systems to enhance customer engagement, improve operational efficiencies and support growth at the location.
"Together, we look forward to investing in this location and delivering best-in-class gaming solutions to customers across southern Louisiana," Rubenstein added.
"With this agreement, Toucan is strengthening its scale and route footprint in our home state of Louisiana," Toucan Gaming Chief Executive Officer Stan Guidroz said.
"Combined with our existing operations, this acquisition supports our strategy of disciplined expansion focused on great entertainment, operational excellence, technology deployment, and new location development,” he added.
