Station Casinos will mark its 50th anniversary in July with a month-long series of celebrations across Southern Nevada, including fireworks displays, concerts, gaming promotions and community initiatives, as the company commemorates five decades serving Las Vegas residents.
The casino operator, which owns and operates 20 entertainment destinations throughout Southern Nevada, will begin its anniversary festivities on July 1 with a fireworks and drone show at Palace Station, the property that traces its roots to the company's earliest days.
The celebrations will continue through the month with live entertainment, commemorative giveaways, food and beverage promotions, and vintage photo booths at selected properties.
Independence Day fireworks displays are also planned across several Station Casinos locations on July 4, with premium viewing events scheduled at Durango Casino & Resort, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort.
"For 50 years, Station Casinos has been honored to grow alongside the Las Vegas community we proudly call home," Frank Fertitta IV, Senior Vice President of Operations at Station Casinos, said in a statement.
"This milestone is truly a celebration of our guests, the locals who have supported us for generations, the communities that have evolved with us, and especially our team members, whose passion and dedication create unforgettable experiences every day," he added.
Founded by Frank Fertitta Jr., Station Casinos was built around the concept of serving local residents at a time when most gaming properties in Las Vegas catered primarily to tourists visiting the Strip or downtown.
The company's first venue, known simply as "The Casino," opened on July 1, 1976, as a 5,000-square-foot property featuring 100 slot machines and a snack bar. The property later became Bingo Palace before being renamed Palace Station in 1984.
Under the leadership of Frank Fertitta III, the company expanded beyond its original location, opening Boulder Station in 1994 and growing into one of the largest operators focused on the Las Vegas locals market. Its publicly traded parent company, Red Rock Resorts, is listed on the Nasdaq.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Station Casinos will offer commemorative collector's chips, branded Boarding Pass and VIP parking cards, and a "Jackets for Jackpots" promotion that awards throwback satin jackets to players hitting slot jackpots of $2,000 or more.
The company will also offer discounted food and beverage specials, including $1.99 margaritas, $3 beers and shots, and late-night dining promotions at selected properties.
Station Casinos employs more than 9,700 team members, including over 1,300 employees who have worked for the company for at least 20 years. Its longest-serving employee has been with the business and its predecessor properties for 49 years.
The company also plans to expand its community outreach efforts during the anniversary month, with properties collectively committing 1,976 volunteer hours each to local organizations including Three Square Food Bank, Opportunity Village and Spread the Word Nevada.
