Coushatta Casino Resort in Southwest Louisiana will celebrate the grand opening of its new Legacy Tower on May 15, marking one of the largest expansions in the resort’s 30-year history as it seeks to boost tourism and regional economic growth.

The opening ceremony, hosted by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. inside the tower’s newly constructed lobby and will bring together tribal leaders, casino executives, development partners, and regional officials.

The new tower adds 204 guest rooms, including 100 luxury suites, increasing the resort’s total room inventory to more than 1,000 rooms. Legacy Tower will officially begin welcoming guests on May 18, 2026.

“This grand opening is a defining moment for Coushatta,” said Nate Tanner, GM of Coushatta Casino Resort.

Legacy Tower makes an immediate impression, from the scale of the tower itself to the unified lobby and arrival experience that brings the resort together in a new way. We are delivering a next-level experience for our guests while continuing to invest in our community, the Tribe, and the future of this region,” Tanner added.

The ceremony will begin with a tribal blessing led by a tribal Elder, followed by the introduction of tribal princesses and remarks from tribal and resort leadership, including David Sickey, Chairman of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana.

Traditional tribal performances and a ribbon-cutting ceremony involving elected officials and project partners are also planned, followed by a reception for guests.

The project forms part of the resort’s multi-year “Bigger, Better Coushatta” investment initiative aimed at enhancing guest experiences while supporting long-term economic development in Southwest Louisiana and East Texas.

The expansion is expected to support job creation, increase tourism, and attract more regional and destination visitors, particularly from Texas.

Legacy Tower has been designed as a new central entrance for the property and features a seven-story LED exterior display, a redesigned arrival experience, and a connecting lobby intended to streamline guest access across the property.

Interior design elements incorporate references to the Coushatta Tribe’s heritage, including patterns and textures inspired by traditional tribal basketry.
