Northfield Park Racino in Ohio has dropped MGM from its name following the completion of its sale to Canada-based Clairvest Group and is rolling out a new brand identity, expanded gaming offerings, and a new rewards program.
Formerly known as MGM Northfield Park, the rebrand follows MGM Resorts International's announcement last year that it would sell the racino to Clairvest. The transaction closed last week.
The updated branding references Northfield, a village in northern Summit County, while maintaining ties to the property’s long-running harness racing history. Northfield Park first opened on August 23, 1957.
Its redesigned logo features a square icon with an abstract horse mane, which the company said represents the racino’s “enduring spirit, pride, purpose and the heritage” tied to the local community.
A full exterior rebrand of the property is expected to be completed within 75 days. An official grand opening celebration featuring promotions and special events will be announced at a later date.
Northfield Park Racino is also expanding its gaming offerings with the planned addition of 300 video lottery terminals (VLTs). The expanded VLT lineup is intended to enhance play for guests, particularly those seeking more exclusive gaming options.
“The new brand identity supports the property’s continued growth and evolution of Northfield Park as Ohio’s premier gaming entertainment venue, featuring a wide array of VLTs, dining options, live harness racing and exciting shows in a great community,” Northfield Park Racino General Manager Kevin Brady said in a statement.
“We are dedicated to continuing this legacy while infusing more excitement by introducing more VLTs, rewards, and offers.”
The racino has also introduced NP Rewards, a new five-tier rewards card program. Existing rewards members have been automatically transferred to NP Rewards with their current tier status, points, and benefits preserved.
Members may pick up new cards and activate their PINs at the NP Rewards Desk at any time. Additional rewards, offers, benefits, and destination partnerships will be announced in the coming months.
As part of the updated casino's identity, Caesars Entertainment has also opened a new in-person Caesars Sportsbook at the property, expanding its retail betting footprint in Ohio and replacing the former MGM-run space.
