Zitro has announced that all of its facilities in Spain are now powered by 100% renewable energy, reaching Scope 2 carbon emissions neutrality in a significant step toward its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

The company confirmed that electricity consumption across its Spanish facilities is certified through Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) under the market-based method. This European standard ensures that for every kilowatt-hour of electricity used, an equivalent amount of renewable energy is generated and supplied to the grid.

Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions that come from the electricity an organization buys and uses, and they are a major contributor to environmental impact in the industrial sector.

With this milestone, Zitro Factory joins Zitro Laboratory and Zitro International in operating entirely on certified renewable energy. The achievement completes the transition across the company’s full operational footprint in Spain.

Zitro said that the move reinforces its long-term commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, further strengthening its position within the global gaming industry.
