Mexico’s gaming industry is set for a major transformation after nearly 80 years under the same regulations. MEGA (Mexico Gaming) 2026, taking place February 3–5 in Mexico City, will showcase the opportunities this new era offers for operators, suppliers, affiliates, and investors.
Lawmakers and the Association of Permit Holders, Operators and Suppliers (AIEJA) are moving to replace the outdated 1947 Federal Gaming and Lottery Law with a modern framework emphasizing transparency, responsible gaming, and player protection. If passed, the reforms will create the National Institute of Games and Raffles, opening the door to a regulated, innovation-driven market.
Mexico already has the infrastructure, demand, and expertise to become one of Latin America’s leading gaming markets. The country’s online gaming sector is projected to grow significantly, while its more than 350 land-based casinos continue to expand.
“Mexico and LatAm are transitioning from high-velocity growth to a more structured regulatory era, reshaping how operators plan and compete,” said event Chairperson Margarita Cruz, Founder/Director of Diamond28 Consulting Limited.
“I’ll share practical insights on aligning commercial strategy with compliance, operational scalability, and market culture,” she said. “The opportunity ahead belongs to those who innovate responsibly and build long-term trust with both players and regulators."
MEGA 2026 will feature a dynamic exhibition-led format, giving brands the opportunity to showcase solutions, launch partnerships, and engage visitors directly. The event will also offer in-depth sessions covering key topics such as regulation, compliance, technology, investment, and operational strategy, while maintaining a regional focus that extends discussions beyond Mexico to the broader Latin American market.
Attendees will benefit from networking opportunities, connecting directly with C-level executives, regulators, investors, and solution providers. MEGA 2026 will also serve as a launchpad for new products and partnerships in a market primed for expansion.
