Regulating the Game has announced Don Hammond, Chief Executive Officer of Leagues Clubs Australia (LCA), as the final member of the judging panel for the inaugural RTG Global Awards, which will be presented at the Regulating the Game 2026 Gala Dinner on 10 March 2026 at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.
The awards will celebrate excellence in leadership, innovation, and impact within the global gambling sector, recognizing those advancing integrity and responsible practices across the industry.
Hammond brings experience in governance, advocacy, and community leadership, having led Leagues Clubs Australia in supporting Rugby League and promoting community engagement nationwide.
His appointment completes a panel that includes industry leaders Khalid Ali, Chief Executive Officer of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA); Jamie Nettleton, Partner at Addisons and former President of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL); and Tracy Parker, Vice-President of Policy, Standards & Accreditation at the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC).
Paul Newson, Principal at Vanguard Overwatch and founder of Regulating the Game, said Hammond’s inclusion strengthens the awards’ focus on integrity and purpose. “Don brings a strong community and industry perspective that reinforces the RTG Global Awards’ focus on integrity, purpose, and impact. His leadership in strengthening club governance and advancing responsible gaming culture makes him an invaluable addition to the panel,” Newsom commented.
Hammond said he was honored to contribute to the awards and encouraged broad participation from across the sector.
“These awards are about shining a light on those setting the benchmark for responsible and effective industry leadership. I look forward to recognising the great work being done to build trust and capability across the sector and encourage organisations to put forward the people and initiatives that are driving progress and inspiring others to lead with purpose,” he said.
The RTG Global Awards will feature six categories recognizing achievements in leadership, safer gambling, compliance, technology, community impact, and emerging talent. Nominations are open to individuals, organizations, and initiatives demonstrating excellence and leadership.
The Regulating the Game 2026 program will also include Pitch! at the Sydney Opera House, an expanded exhibition showcase, and an international lineup of thought leaders. More information and nomination details are available at www.regulatingthegame.com/global-awards-2026.
