The Embassy of Malta in Washington, which is also accredited to Mexico, has formally endorsed SiGMA’s upcoming SiGMA North America Summit – SigmaPlay. The event takes place in Mexico City in September 2026, marking a milestone for SiGMA as it brings its platform to Mexico for the first time.
Ambassador Godfrey Xuereb said the event will serve as an avenue for Mexico to advance its economic and tourism sectors while connecting the North and South American markets.
The Embassy also confirmed that it will be represented at the 2026 event as part of Malta’s continuing support for SiGMA, which originated in the country.
“SiGMA is a Maltese success story. We take pride in seeing a company that started in Malta grow into a world-leading platform that connects industries and ideas across continents. Its expansion into Mexico highlights Malta’s continued contribution to the global digital economy,” Ambassador Xuereb said.
The Mexico City summit marks SiGMA’s first event in the country and its entry into the North American region.
“This is a timely opportunity to strengthen Mexico’s international profile and to create meaningful bridges between the North and South American markets. Hosting SiGMA in Mexico will not only support business development in the gaming and technology sectors but also showcase the vibrancy of Mexico’s tourism and hospitality industries,” he added.
Ambassador Xuereb, who attended the SiGMA Euro-Med 2025 in Malta, described the event as an international platform where governments, regulators, innovators, and investors collaborate to create channels for cross-border engagement and business development.
SiGMA North America: Mexico City 2026 is projected to draw more than 4,000 delegates. The program will feature bilingual sessions in Spanish and English, along with conferences, an international expo, networking events, and cultural activities.
