At this year’s SBC Summit in Lisbon, BETBY showcased its rapid growth, expanding product portfolio, and a sharp focus on innovation through artificial intelligence and localized content. The company, which boasts a growing position in both crypto and esports, used the event to connect with partners, highlight new features such as its Expert Tips AI tool, and emphasize its growing footprint across Latin America.

In conversation with Yogonet, Stefanos Karakidis, Director of Business Development at BETBY, discussed the company’s objectives for the summit, the importance of markets like Brazil, Mexico, and Peru, and how AI-driven solutions are shaping the future of the business. He also shared insights on the expansion of BETBY’s Entertainment Feed and how technology is driving competitiveness in a rapidly evolving iGaming landscape.

What were the company’s main objectives for attending SBC Summit, and what did it mean to be here?

I think this is the second most important trade show of the year for us. It’s very important for us to be here, to meet our clients and partners, and to showcase the innovation we’ve built into our products. We’ve developed a lot of new features, and we also want to highlight the company’s growth.

This is a very large event with a strong global presence. Which markets or regions were you most interested in seeing represented here?

Of course, everyone is talking about Brazil. In the past six months, so many companies have been focused on entering and growing in that market. We also have a strong presence in Brazil, but my department’s main priority is Latin America more broadly, especially markets like Peru and Mexico.

At the same time, BETBY is very strong in crypto and esports. The company is expanding rapidly across several markets, and we’re always working on localized content that perfectly matches the needs of different countries—whether that’s esports content or more traditional sports, depending on what’s most relevant in each market.

The company's AI Labs and artificial intelligence applications have been a big focus at this event. Could you share some of the main updates BETBY presented, and what operators and players can expect?

One of the most important tools we’ve developed is Expert Tips. These are based on AI and statistics, and they’re available across 11 different major sports. When a user opens a match, they see suggested markets generated by the tool. Already, more than 35% of our users are actively engaging with this feature, which shows huge potential. We’re planning to expand it to tier-two and tier-three sports that may be particularly relevant in certain countries.

In addition to Expert Tips, we’re investing heavily in content localization and personalization, tailoring offerings to each user’s betting patterns. Another key area is risk management and trading—even though partners don’t see it directly, they experience the results. For example, August was our best month ever, with margins above 12%, which is impressive given that most of our users are experienced crypto casino players.

BETBY has also expanded its Entertainment Feed, which goes beyond sports betting. How important is this product?

This is a very exciting product because it’s a unique form of content. Essentially, we can build custom markets around trending topics. For example, if the keyword is “Ronaldo,” we can generate special markets linked to him. This creates high engagement, and it’s flexible enough to adapt to any region: Big Brother in Brazil, elections in the U.S., the Oscars in Europe—it’s all possible. The system is highly automated, so odds are generated quickly and can be deployed to any of our operator partners.

How do these AI-driven tools give BETBY a competitive edge?

First of all, results matter. Our partners invest with us, and they want the best margins possible. Risk management and trading play a big role here. Behind the scenes, we’ve built advanced systems that generate automatic alerts to flag potentially risky users. This allows us to respond quickly and protect our trading operations.

On top of that, the Entertainment Feed gives partners unique markets they can’t get elsewhere, which creates additional value.

Looking ahead, what role do you see technology—AI in particular—playing in shaping the industry?

More and more operators and suppliers are investing in AI development. Personally, I don’t think AI will replace humans, but if used wisely, it can close many of the gaps that still exist in operations—both for operators and for providers.

Finally, what is your message for those who stopped by BETBY's stand at the show?

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. There’s always great energy here, and we’ve received excellent feedback on our products. Personally, and as a company, we have high expectations for growth, but so do our partners. The message is clear: we want to keep growing together with them.
