Brazil’s capital will become the meeting point for industry leaders and policymakers this October when the Royal Tulip Brasília Alvorada hosts BiS Brasília, a two-day summit dedicated to gaming, betting, and lotteries.
The event, scheduled for October 21–22, is being organized by BiS SiGMA in collaboration with ABRAJOGO, the National Association of Gaming and Lotteries (ANJL), and the National Association of State and Municipal Lotteries (ANALOME).
Federal regulations on fixed-odds betting came into force this year, while states and municipalities are expanding their lottery offerings. Organizers say this makes Brasília the ideal setting, given its proximity to Congress, the Ministry of Finance, and regulatory authorities shaping the future of the market.
Alessandro Valente, co-founder of BiS, described the new venue as a necessary step for building stronger ties between companies and government. “Holding BiS in Brasília is more than expanding an event — it’s the recognition of the need for structured dialogue between the industry and public authorities," he said, as per Games Magazine Brasil.
Panels and meetings over the two days will address issues such as taxation, legal certainty, combating illegal operators, responsible gambling, and the role of lotteries. Private sessions and VIP networking opportunities will also give executives and regulators the chance to discuss sensitive matters directly.
Witoldo Hendrich, president of ABRAJOGO, said that the summit places industry priorities at the center of national politics: “BiS Brasília is a unique opportunity to bring the industry’s most urgent agendas to the political center of the country."
"We need a technical and transparent dialogue with public authorities to defend the legitimacy of companies operating within the law, ensure responsible practices, and help consolidate the sector as a relevant part of Brazil’s formal, regulated economy,” he added.
Plínio Lemos Jorge, who heads ANJL, highlighted both achievements and gaps in Brazil’s betting framework. “As we approach one year of the regulated betting market in Brazil, the Association recognizes the progress made but also highlights important challenges, such as effectively combating the illegal betting industry and implementing tax measures that ensure market sustainability, contributing significantly to the national economy,” he said.
The expansion of state and municipal lotteries will also be a central theme. According to ANALOME president Camilo Brito: “BiS Brasília represents a key step in giving voice to state and municipal lotteries within the new regulatory landscape."
