Eldorado Reno Resort & Casino, a longtime downtown Reno property, has filed permits for a $24 million hotel remodel, part of Caesars Entertainment’s broader efforts to upgrade its Northern Nevada portfolio.

The permits, filed with the city of Reno and first reported by local outlet Downtown Makeover, cover renovations to multiple hotel floors across its towers.

Plans include a $1.6 million remodel of suites on floors four through 10 in the Sierra Tower, and $22.4 million in guest room and corridor upgrades on floors three through 10 of the Virginia Tower. A separate $500,000 permit was previously submitted to remodel three rooms and a corridor on the Virginia Tower’s 10th floor as a model project.

Eldorado is part of Caesars’ “Reno Tri Properties,” along with the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus, which were rebranded as The Row in 2018.

The remodel comes as Caesars pushes ahead with larger regional investments. The company recently completed the first phase of a $160 million renovation of the former Harveys Lake Tahoe property into Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, including guest rooms, lobby upgrades, gaming floor enhancements, and new dining. A second phase is set to begin this month and finish next summer.

Eldorado Resorts acquired Caesars Entertainment in a $17.3 billion merger in 2020, creating the largest gaming company in the United States.
