From a pre-summit retreat in Gozo to golf tournaments and island cruises, SiGMA Euro-Med 2025 combined formal panels and exhibitions with multiple networking formats that brought together 12,000 delegates across Malta.

The program began August 28-30 in Gozo with the SiGMA Affiliate Retreat. Fifty affiliates attended strategy-focused roundtables and networking sessions hosted by the Ministry of Gozo and Invest Gozo. The retreat also included a reception at Baldakkin Gastrobar and a visit to the Blue Lagoon. The activities aligned with Malta Vision 2050 and Gozo’s Regional Development Strategy.

By September 1, events shifted to Malta. Delegates participated in a wellness session organized by the SiGMA Foundation and GamingMalta, with donations supporting school-building initiatives in Africa. Executives joined a golf tournament at the Royal Malta Golf Club, while premium ticket holders boarded a cruise along Malta’s coastline. A Discover Gozo program showcased the island’s innovation hub, local cuisine and cultural attractions.

That evening, the Hilton Malta hosted the Welcome Reception, followed by the SiGMA Euro-Med Awards. Winners included Jasper Svensson, operational CEO of Betsson AB, and Ivan Filetti, CEO of GamingMalta Foundation. A new category, the Hall of Game, honored industry leaders such as Joe Zammit Mempel, Vince Farrugia and Mario Galea. During the gala, the SiGMA Foundation raised €103,500 at a charity auction to support projects in Peru and Brazil.

Summit opening and exhibition

The official summit opened September 2 at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub. GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti and SiGMA Founder Eman Pulis led the ribbon-cutting. Pulis presented the organization’s Vision 2030, outlining goals for the next five years.

Prime Minister Robert Abela toured the exhibition floor, which featured companies such as 1xBet, GG.Bet Affiliates, Play.Partners, NetRefer and SpinBetter Partners. International delegations included representatives from Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, the Arab League and the Netherlands.

The exhibition displayed new products and services in gaming and technology, with the ALS stand drawing attention for its art donations. Panels addressed artificial intelligence in iGaming, Malta’s fintech regulatory environment, esports and responsible innovation. The SiGMA Startup Pitch named Motileo as winner for a SaaS platform using gamification for performance metrics.

Startups and government engagement

September 3 featured the AIBC Startup Pitch, where Allpass.ai was selected for its digital identity verification platform. The day also included panels on gaming’s integration with other sectors, affiliate marketing strategies and evolving regulation.

Evening events included the C-level iGathering Dinner at Sale e Pepe and the Business-to-Government Reception at Fort St. Angelo. The reception presented Vision 2030 to government officials and delegates.

The summit concluded September 3 with the SiGMA Official Celebration at Toy Room Beach Club, supported by Wicked Games and AllBet. Networking and entertainment closed the three-day conference.

The SiGMA Poker Tour continues through September 7 at Portomaso Casino, featuring the Main Event on September 6-7 and the Mystery Bounty competition. The series will move next to Rome for SiGMA Central Europe.
