Football season has arrived, and visitors traveling along U.S. Route 550 now have a new place to wager on games. The Apache Nugget Travel Center and Casino, located near Cuba, New Mexico, has officially opened its race and sportsbook, marking another milestone for the property just seven months after its grand reopening.
The new facility, launched by Apache Nugget Corporation, will be open during regular casino hours. It comes as part of the company’s efforts to expand gaming and entertainment options across northern New Mexico.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to offer this new gaming and entertainment option to our guests – just in time for football season to start,” said Tony J. Amormino, President and CEO of Apache Nugget Corporation.
“Since we re-opened the casino in February, I’ve heard loud, clear and often from our guests that they’ve been looking forward to betting on races and sports with us. We hope they’ll join us in Cuba for all the excitement and fun to come.”
The Apache Nugget Travel Center and Casino already features a variety of gaming options, including 80 slot machines, electronic table game stations for blackjack, video poker, roulette, craps and baccarat, as well as a Players Club with member rewards. Beyond the gaming floor, the venue offers live entertainment, music, and a staff known for its hospitality.
Located at 537 U.S. Highway 550, about 15 miles northwest of Cuba, the travel center also serves as a full-service stop for travelers with a convenience store, gas station, and trucker’s lounge.
Apache Nugget Corporation has also signaled plans to expand into online wagering. Guests can sign up for the Apache Spirit Rewards Club through the casino’s website to receive updates on the upcoming iGaming launch, which will allow betting from anywhere within the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
