Preparations for the Las Vegas Grand Prix will begin the week of September 8 with 11 weeks of work to install track lighting, barriers, and temporary bridges along the 3.8-mile Strip circuit, according to organizers.

Construction is scheduled to take place mostly overnight, with no public street work on weekends. The Formula One race weekend is set for November 20-22.

Organizers said the schedule has been adjusted from previous years to manage traffic on and around the Strip. The course passes through Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane, and Harmon and Sands avenues, with additional work on Flamingo Road, Audrie Street, Winnick Avenue, and Rochelle Avenue.

This year’s installation timeline for track barriers has been reduced by two weeks. On Las Vegas Boulevard, barriers between Sands and Harmon avenues will not be placed until 12 days before the event.

On Flamingo Road, the two-lane vehicular bridge installation has been reduced to five days, compared with 10 days in 2023 and seven in 2024. The pedestrian bridge on the north side of Flamingo will be built simultaneously with the vehicular bridge, removing the need for a second closure of the Koval Lane–Flamingo Road intersection.

Dismantling of the circuit is projected to finish before Christmas, according to organizers.

Race events will start earlier than in previous years, affecting traffic and closure schedules. Roads in the area will close at 1 p.m. each day from November 20-22.

Practice sessions are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on November 20 and 21, with qualifying at 8 p.m. on November 21. The main race is set to start at 8 p.m. on Nov. 22.

The construction plan, developed in response to feedback from residents, businesses, and workers, is intended to limit disruptions during the setup and takedown phases. Crews will also modify existing pedestrian bridges along Las Vegas Boulevard and adjacent roads to support event operations.

Organizers said the revised timelines are designed to maintain access along the Strip during most of the construction period, while keeping the circuit on schedule for completion ahead of the race weekend.
