The Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has granted the online gaming, online betting, and online casino master license to Mascott Capital Partners, an iGaming and license management company. The move is part of the launch of the country's regulatory framework for online gambling.
The granting of the online gaming master license is "a first for Equatorial Guinea," said Mascott Capital Partners, representing a key step in the regulation of digital gambling and the introduction of new licensing guidelines for online gambling operations under the Equatorial Guinea jurisdiction.
Under the new law, all international online gaming, betting, and casino operators must obtain an Online Gaming License from Equatorial Guinea’s authorities. Licensed operators will be subject to regular audits to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, including user identification checks and reporting of suspicious transactions. They are also required to provide clear warnings about gambling risks on their platforms and meet financial criteria to safeguard player funds.
Multinational operators can utilise the Mascott Capital Partners' digital platform for support in submitting applications for an online gaming license. The company, along with its authorized partners, will manage all international gaming licenses using a proprietary software system, streamlining the licensing process through a single portal.
H.E. Antonio-Pedro Oliveira Burupu, Minister for Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure, called this a major step in regulating online gambling, attracting international investment, and boosting the country’s economy.
"The launch of online gaming, online betting, and online casinos in Equatorial Guinea is one of the most significant measures taken by gaming regulators in the country's history and Mascott Capital Partners' digital platform will assist in submitting online gaming license applications," he said.
