Zitro has achieved a 73% reduction in non-recyclable waste in 2024 compared to its 2022 baseline, marking a major milestone in the company’s ongoing environmental sustainability efforts and its broader commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

The reduction was largely driven by initiatives at Zitro’s Getafe Operations Center and the Barcelona Technology Campus. The company implemented a series of waste management strategies, including detailed waste characterization, partnerships with specialized waste management firms, and quarterly volume monitoring.

Additionally, internal recycling campaigns and enhanced waste collection systems were introduced to improve waste separation at the source across all office areas.

The results not only exceed expectations for 2024 but also position Zitro well on its path toward its long-term goal of reducing non-recyclable waste by 70% by the year 2032.

In line with its ESG commitments, the company last month announced the reinforcement of its Corporate Sustainability Policy, setting a framework aligned with its principles across its global operations.

The initiative applies to all employees, offices, suppliers, and elements of the company’s value chain. The new policy outlines commitments in three core areas—environmental, social, and governance—supporting responsible business practices while aligning with recognized international standards.

The move lays the foundation for responsible management that minimizes environmental impact, promotes inclusion and diversity, and upholds transparency and corporate ethics, the company said.
