Genting Casino Stratford reopens with four-day party and major upgrades

The UK’s biggest casino is relaunching as Genting Casino Stratford with a four-day celebration starting Thursday, July 31.

The event includes live DJs, music acts, and gaming promotions, setting the stage for a major revamp under new ownership. Genting Casinos UK, which bought the venue from Aspers in April, plans a multi-million-pound investment in the site, including new electronic gaming equipment and refreshed bar and dining areas.

The relaunch kicks off with a VIP event on Thursday, followed by a live show on Friday, August 1, by singer Beverley Stone. On Saturday, August 2, the celebration continues with free DJ sets from Dean McCullough, Rickie & Melvin, and Kimberly Watt from 7 pm. Guests can also enjoy a happy hour from 4 pm to 10 pm, featuring 2-for-1 cocktails. The weekend concludes on Sunday, August 3, with a performance by female duo Sirene.

Located in the Westfield Centre, the casino attracted 1.3 million visitors in 2012, its first full year. Genting said the investment aims to bring visitor numbers back to that level. The property boasts the largest casino floor in the UK, featuring 150 slot machines, 100 electronic gaming terminals, and a licensed betting office, offering visitors a diverse mix of gaming experiences.

Upgrades include state-of-the-art IGT machines with new curve cabinets, LED signage, and progressive jackpots of up to £20,000 (US$26,623). Novomatic terminals also allow for play starting from just 10p, with a wide range of games including single and double zero roulette, Spreadbet roulette, and live dealer Baccarat.

Poker remains a priority. The casino has over 35 poker tables, with daily cash games, major events like the British Poker Series, and specialty tables for Heads Up Hold’em Progressive and Prime 3 Card Progressive Poker.

All guests can join the My Genting rewards program to earn points for gaming, food, and drinks. The Genting Rewards app gives 10% off drinks and bonus points for completing challenges.
