A Connecticut resident won a $2,018,742.30 jackpot at Mohegan Sun on Wednesday while playing Spanish 21 in the Casino of the Earth.
The guest triggered the jackpot by placing the $5 Bonus Spin Xtreme side bet and spinning Triple Diamonds, marking the biggest jackpot at Mohegan Sun so far in 2025 and one of the top five largest table game payouts in the casino’s history.
"While side bet jackpots are won regularly on Spanish 21 at Mohegan Sun, this particular jackpot where the guest placed the $5 side bet and spun Triple Diamonds is a record-breaking win at $2,018,742.30," Don Bowen, director of table games at Mohegan Sun, said in a statement. "It is the largest jackpot at Mohegan Sun this year and the largest Spanish 21 jackpot ever at Mohegan Sun."
Just days earlier, two more players scored major wins in the Casino of the Sky. On Sunday, July 6, Jimmie B. of Bridgeport won $211,079.52 on Dollar Storm by Aristocrat Gaming. The next morning, Patrick H. won $115,266.58 playing Railroad Riches by Sega Sammy Creations. Both jackpots were hit in the Hold & Spin Slot Zone.
Earlier this year, a player won over $1.37 million on a Jumanji slot in January, and another guest hit a $1.34 million jackpot in February from a $5 blackjack side bet.
Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Earth includes over 260 slot machines and 30 table games. The Casino of the Sky features more than 1,800 slots and 90 table games, including the Hold & Spin Slot Zone, launched in 2024.
