Operating as a nonprofit corporation, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) generated CAD 378 million (US$275 million) in gross revenue for fiscal year 2024–25, channeling 100% of net income—CAD 146 million—into provincial and community programs, including First Nations Trusts and community development corporations.
The fiscal year covered the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. SIGA reported an increase from the previous year’s gross revenue of CAD 347 million and a distribution rise from CAD 139 million in 2023–24.
Under SIGA’s income distribution model, 50% of net income is allocated to the First Nations Trust, which supports 74 First Nations across Saskatchewan. An additional 25% is directed to Community Development Corporations (CDCs) that fund local initiatives, while the remaining 25% goes to the provincial General Revenue Fund.
“To date, over CAD 1.7 billion has been paid out by SIGA to our First Nations communities, Community Development Corporations (CDCs), and to the Province’s General Revenue Fund,” said Zane Hansen, SIGA President and CEO.
“SIGA has successfully built itself back to strength post-pandemic, and is making investments into its future with the strong growth of its PlayNow.com platform and enhancements to our land-based casinos, ensuring we remain top entertainment destinations in the province,” Hansen said.
SIGA operates seven casinos in Saskatchewan and is regulated by the provincial government in partnership with the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations.
The gaming authority is certified through the RG Check Program for responsible gambling operations. It contributes CAD 2.5 million annually to the provincial First Nations Addictions and Rehabilitation Foundation (FNARF).
