Alfredo Lazcano, one of the most experienced and reputable gaming lawyers in Latin America, has been announced as a speaker at the IAGA 2025 Summit. The International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) confirmed the news ahead of this month's edition of the event, taking place from June 9 to 12 in Berlin, Germany.
The event comes as the global gaming industry continues to evolve at the intersection of technology, content, and consumer engagement. This latest edition of the IAGA Summit will strongly advocate for sports integrity, organizers said, with the summit featuring representatives from relevant sports governing bodies such as FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, NASCAR, NFL, UEFA, among others.
On Thursday, June 12 at 3:30 p.m., the panel “The Convergence of Entertainment, Media and Sports Betting” will bring together a distinguished group of experts to explore how these industries are blending to shape the future of gaming.
Among the featured speakers is Alfredo Lazcano, an experienced gaming lawyer in Latin America and Chair of Lazcano Sámano, a law firm specializing in gaming fintech and media, based in Mexico City.
Lazcano will share legal and strategic insights from the Americas, including the regulatory and commercial opportunities arising from the increasing integration between sporting events, entertainment, and media content, and online betting platforms.
The panel will also feature Amie Biros (Vice President – Strategic Initiatives, Rush Street Interactive), Sarah MacDonald (Partner, Wiggin), and Shayan Sanyal (Global Games Industry BD Leader, Amazon Web Services), with moderation by Tom Lee (Partner, Nelson Mullins).
Panelists will examine how partnerships between leagues, operators, and media conglomerates are reshaping customer engagement and redefining how betting is marketed and consumed. They will also address key legal considerations, among which Lazcano plans to highlight the challenges of multijurisdictional compliance as these converging sectors expand globally.
"Alfredo Lazcano’s participation reinforces the importance of including Latin America in the global conversation, especially as markets like Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia become increasingly relevant in this new ecosystem of hybrid entertainment and betting experiences," IAGA 2025 Summit organizers said.
